Followers is a ministry program with students who are in grades K-2 (Junior Followers) and grades 3-5 (Followers). This ministry began and continues with a heart towards reaching students younger than traditional church youth groups. Prayerfully, through the Followers program,
students begin and develop a relationship with Jesus and are discipled to permeate their community with the Gospel.
Followers meet together every other Monday after school from 3:15-5:00pm (see Calendar Tab for schedule).
The church provides transportation from the Hayward Primary and Intermediate Schools to the church and parents provide transportation home. During these after school meetings, the students play games, have a light snack, pray, sing songs, learn a story from the Bible, participate in small groups, and understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus.Register for Followers
Youth is a set of ministry environments for students in grades 6-12 (middle school and high school) on Wednesdays and Sundays. Our goal is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We accomplish the goal and vision by teaching students the Bible, partnering with parents and small group leaders to disciple and spiritually challenge our youth, and connecting through intentional activities to build Christlike character and community.
Every Wednesday night during the school year, several teenagers in grades 6-12 come to Hayward Wesleyan Church for Youth Group from 6:30 – 8:30pm (doors open @ 6:15pm and close @ 9:00pm). We play games and laugh, study and interact with Scripture, worship and connect with God, love and share with one another. Youth Camp 2014
Sunday, June 22 – Friday, June 27, 2014
For students who complete grades 6 – 12 this school year.
The cost is $150.
This might seem a little weird, but Youth Camp is a little taste of what heaven will be like. Imagine a group of teenagers and adults stepping away from their normal world and disengaging from technology and focusing on God’s kingdom, away from all the distractions of life. When the noise has softened and the technology withdrawals have subsided (by about Tuesday), it is amazing to watch the incredible spiritual growth take place in the hearts and lives both the students and even adults.
Youth Camp is also a lot of fun. It’s amazing to folks who have never been to Youth Camp before that a deeply meaningful and rich spiritual environment can be equally a ton of fun! And it is! We laugh and goof off with the best of them!
If you choose to take a week out of your summer, away from cell phones, gaming, sports, and other stuff, you won’t regret the spiritual investment and lifelong friends you will make. See you there!
If you would like to register, please download the camp form below, print it off, fill it in, and turn it into the HWC Main Office (by Sunday, June 1, 2014). If you have any questions, please connect with Pastor Jeremy.Youth Camp Registration Form

volunteer for VBS
We are always looking for great volunteers for Vacation Bible School.
The greatest need for VBS is Small Group Leaders. These vital staff members are responsible for ferrying a small group of 4-6 children from station to station. In this volunteer position, you really get to know the children in your small group really well!
We also need a few craft, game, and snack assistants. Happy greeters at the front door passing out high-fives always lends to an exciting evening. And a few random Moms walking around and being present for random situations that ONLY Moms know how to deal with!Volunteer Registration
