No Problems, Only Plans // Positively Speaking // Mark Wilson

“God has no problems,” said Corrie Ten Boom, “only plans!”

When we face troubles of whopper proportions, we need to remember Corrie’s words of faith. No problems; only plans!

Life has a way of zagging when it is supposed to zig. Unexpected situations and circumstances arise all the time.

We should not be surprised, therefore, when we’re dealt a bad hand. That’s just the way life is. “Being challenged in life is inevitable,” said Roger Crawford, “but being defeated is optional.” The secret to overcoming a difficulty is to find faith enough to rise above it. This situation might be a problem to me, but it is no problem to God.

Author, Lucretia Hanson observed an ad in the newspaper one day which was supposed to be for “Used Cars.” Instead, the ad was for “Used Cares.”

“It made me stop short and reflect on how many of our cares are used ones, dredged up from past memories.”

Often, our struggles in life are tied to “used cares”: unresolved issues of the past which darken the present path. How many of your current difficulties are tied to your past — your “used cares”?

The Bible says “Cast your cares upon the Lord because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) If someone steals your tires, and you try to drive on the rims, you will have a rough ride, and sparks will fly everywhere.

If your life has been a rough go and the sparks of conflict are flying — you need to be refitted with a new set of spiritual tires: faith, hope, joy, peace.

When you ride on these, the path is much smoother and the potholes don’t jar you so much. Charles Tremendous Jones understood this principle when he said, “I do not believe God solves all our problems. In fact, He gives us bigger and better ones! When people come to know God, life will not get easier, but it sure will get better!”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
