Are You a Thriver or a Survivor? // Positively Speaking // Mark Wilson

Are you making the most of your life? Are you a Thriver or a mere Survivor?

Some people barely exist. Their goal is just to make it through another day.

No goals
No plans
No dreams
No accomplishment.

They’re not getting anywhere, and they wonder why life is such a pain in the neck.
The Thrivers, on the other hand, have learned to rise above the level of mediocrity. They’re not satisfied with barely surviving – they desire to live each day to the fullest — to make the most of every opportunity!

Thrivers realize that happiness doesn’t just happen automatically. It’s not a matter of “Luck”.

While many sad folks sit on the shore, waiting for “their ship to come in”, Thrivers set off for adventure in their canoe! It’s amazing what you can achieve if you get up and start moving forward!

While others make excuses, Thrivers make progress.

While Survivors focus on getting through the day, Thrivers are committed to “growing” through the day.

Instead of looking to fix the blame, Thrivers seek to fix the problem.

You can’t be a Thriver by accident. You have to be intentional about it. You have to think! You have to make adjustments! You have to seek the best! You have to move beyond yourself!

John Wesley, the 18th Century Minister from England, was a classic Thriver! In my opinion, he’s one of the greatest men of history (In fact, we named a son after him!) His Rule for Living could also be called “The Thriver’s Creed”:

Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.
