The Power of Vision // Positively Speaking // Mark Wilson

Your vision of the future largely determines your level of achievement.

If you don’t dream it, you won’t do it. The great achievers are always big thinkers.

Unfortunately, the majority of individuals never get around to thinking big — they merely exist from day to day. Their daily routine is: work, each, watch television, sleep, get up and do the same thing all over again.

If that’s all you do in life, no wonder you find it boring!

It has been said that 90% of people live at the survival level. That is — they only think of getting through the day (or maybe the week). The chief concern is making a living.

Another 9% live at the success level. Their goal is to make progress and have a “good” life. They work hard — but it’s mostly for personal gain.

Only about 1% of people live at the significance level. This is a much higher and more rewarding way to live than mere survival or success.

Living at the significance level requires a whopping amount of vision. It means extraordinary commitment:
– Commitment to God.
– Commitment to personal growth.
– Commitment to others.
– Commitment to excellence.

A clear, compelling, faith-inspiring vision will propel you to a higher level of living.

“Only a mediocre person is at his best.” –Lawrence Peter

“Life is too short to be little.” –Benjamin Disraeli

“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.” –Henry David Thoreau

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Psalm 29:18
